Announcing the Windows Phone Next App Star challenge |
Today we announced an exciting new opportunity for Windows Phone developers – the Windows Phone Next App Star challenge. Whether you already have an app or want to create a new one for Windows Phone 8, this tournament-style competition brings the potential to have your Windows Phone app featured in a primetime Windows Phone TV ad!
The contest will be a head-to-head, bracket-style competition that starts with selecting the top 64 app entries based on an equal weighting of user ratings and quality measures. Then, these 64 apps will be whittled down by consumer voting to 32, then 16, 8, 4 and 2 until we have a final battle where the ultimate champion will be pronounced the "Windows Phone Next App Star."
The champion app will have the opportunity to be featured in a primetime Windows Phone TV ad, produced by Microsoft! Even if your app is not the last one standing, many prizes await, including Nokia Lumia 920s, Windows Phone Dev Center subscriptions and more.
